A portal fantasy is a story that starts on Earth, then the hero finds some kind of door that leads to another world that is usually full of magic and fantastical places and people. Andrew's SPELLBINDERS series is a great example of a portal fantasy, filled with so much humor and super fun fantasy creatures (did you see the flying narwhals on the cover?).
