Genre : Epic Fantasy (or "High Fantasy")
An epic fantasy story takes place on another world, usually with magical elements/creatures, and is "epic" in nature. This means there are a lot of characters , quests, and world-wide high stakes with some sort of good-vs-evil showdown.
Megan's HEROES OF HAVENSONG series is a great example of a high fantasy with four main characters who are destined by the Fates to defeat evil and save dragons, magic, and the world as they know it.

Meet your Epic Fantasy Writing Coach : Megan Reyes
After many years as an elementary teacher, Megan is now a full-time mama and children's book author. When she's not writing or wrangling her four children, then she's probably drawing, imagining her next story, or losing herself in a new book. She's always loved stories. She has vivid memories of sitting on the library floor, in the children’s fantasy section. It was there she found herself completely at home amongst dragons, castles, wizards and magic. Since then, fantastical stories seemed to have made a habit of bouncing around in her head with remarkable persistence. Megan currently lives in Northern California with her awesome husband and four fantastically rambunctious sons. |
